On June 4, 2022 I attended the Wicomico County NAACP Branch Freedom Fund Banquet at Salisbury University. The banquet kicked off with an inspirational keynote by Rev. Jamar Jackson. Congratulations to the honorees: SU President Dr. Charles Wight, WCBOE Superintendent Dr. Donna Hanlin, UMES Professor of Education Dr. Richard Warren, and Haitian community advocate Habacuc Petion. Thank you to President Amanda Hopkins and the Freedom Fund Committee for hosting the banquet, which raises "critical dollars needed to effect change and advance the cause of civil and human rights."
